Quick Start Guide

Get your store locator fully configured in under 5 minutes.

This guide assumes you've already installed PinPoint. If not, start there first!

1. Add Your First Store (1 minute)

  1. Open PinPoint from your Shopify admin
  2. Click the Add Store button
  3. Enter the store name and full address
  4. Add phone number, email, and hours (optional but recommended)
  5. Click Save

The address is automatically converted to map coordinates. If geocoding fails, you can manually enter latitude and longitude.

2. Customize Your Map (2 minutes)

Go to Settings in the sidebar and select the Map tab to personalize the appearance:

  • Map Style - Choose from Streets, Outdoors, Light, or Dark themes
  • Default Zoom - Set how zoomed in/out the map starts
  • Search Radius - Maximum distance for location searches
  • Distance Units - Miles or kilometers
  • Clustering - Group nearby markers when zoomed out (reduces clutter)

3. Add to Your Theme (1 minute)

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes and click Edit
  2. Navigate to your store locator page
  3. Click Add section
  4. Select PinPoint Store Locator under Apps
  5. Click Save
You're Live!Your store locator is now visible to customers. Visit your storefront to see it in action!

4. Optional Enhancements

Once the basics are set up, consider these features:

Add Tags for Filtering

Create tags like "Open Sundays", "Wheelchair Accessible", or "Premium Location" to let customers filter stores. Go to Tags in the sidebar to create them.

Bulk Import Stores

Have many locations? Use the Import / Export feature to upload a CSV file with all your stores at once. Download a template to see the required format.

Link Products to Stores

Show customers which products are available at each location. Go to Productsin the sidebar to set up associations (Pro plan only).

Enable Store Submissions

Let customers or retailers submit new store locations for your approval. Enable this in Settings → Submissions (Growth plan and above).

Dashboard Tips

  • Navigation Persistence: The dashboard remembers which section you're viewing across page refreshes
  • Customizable Columns: Click the Columns button in the store list to show/hide columns
  • Bulk Operations: Select multiple stores to edit, delete, or geocode them in bulk
